16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
God says that those that come to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6)...that's not asking too much; GOD IS.
God is not limited to time and if we are in him and one with him he is able to redeem our time and empower us to not be bound by time; he is well able to renew and restore.
Isaiah 57
Joel 2:25
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
Sometimes the cares of this world hardens our heart and we resent the trials and tribulations that God uses to purge and mature us; we grow weary while waiting on our promise; but don't harden your heart. Rest is ahead....not the rest where we sit down and do nothing but the rest where the yoke is easy and the burden is light.
Hebrews 4
4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
verse 9 of Hebrews Chapter 4 says
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
and 16 says
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
We have access to the promises of God by being in the resting place. We must be careful not to forfeit the promise through unbelief and disobedience. God commanded us to have a Sabbath; a day of rest and in that day we gain access to the promises of God.
Genesis Chpt. 1
1.Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
4.These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
5.And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before
it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth and there was not a man to till the ground.
The provision was already there God only needed to speak so that we would be able to perceive and access it in this realm. We keep striving to do things out of our own strength when we should heed the word of the Lord to Zerubbable...not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord". (Zechariah 4:6)
Enter into God's rest.
Matthew 11
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
