ASK

I was looking through one of my notebooks today and an entry from 2011 stood out; It was as if I was hearing it again for the first time. "Do you notice that when you are in my will or presence you don't ask for trivial things; this is the "You have not because you ask not"; at these times if you ask for what is in your spirit you will receive."

JESUS IS LORD

I STOPPED PARTICIPATING IN HALLOWEEN SOME YEARS AGO. MY TWO OLDER SON'S WERE VERY LITTLE.  I WASN'T IN CHURCH BUT SOMETHING ABOUT A HOLIDAY BEING WICKED ENOUGH THAT I HAD TO CHECK CANDY TO MAKE SURE SOMEONE DIDN'T PUT SOMETHING IN MY CHILD'S CANDY THAT COULD HURT THEM OR TAKE THEIR LIVES DIDN'T SIT RIGHT WITH ME AND I DECIDED THAT I DIDN'T WANT ANY PART OF IT. THIS YEAR THE SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY AROUND THIS SEASON WAS VERY STRONG. I HAVE FELT WEIGHED DOWN ALL WEEK AND THERE HAS BEEN SO MUCH GOING ON IN THE AREA I LIVE IN BUT ONE THING REMAINS CERTAIN JESUS IS LORD AND GOD IS IN FULL CONTROL!

Thank God for Seeing Another Year

Friday was my birthday. I had lunch with my mom and spent time with my cousin. It was a very simple day but it was a very good day. Earlier today I went to dinner with some co-workers. I knew that they would want to go somewhere afterwards and  I was tempted to go but then I decided not to. I turned thirty-six and there was something very different about my birthday this year. With all of the chaos I found myself being grateful just to be here! I thank God for his faithfulness; I thank him for keeping me. I thank God that this time next year won't be anything like it is this year. I thank God for my family and friends. I thank God that despite every attack he allowed me to survive. I thank God for revelation and freedom. I feel as if I have awakened. I feel that I was merely sleepwalking. I am seeing things differently now. I thank God that he knows the beginning and the end. I thank him for his love. I thank him for his creative power. I thank him for life. I thank him for choosing me, believing in me, and calling me. I thank him that he allows me to hear his voice; that he tells me his mysteries; that he calls me unto himself and restores. Thank you Lord; I love you.

TUG OF WAR

IN THE FIRST PART OF SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR I WENT TO A FAMILY REUNION IN JACKSONVILLE FL. WE HAD A REALLY GREAT TIME. ONE OF THE ACTIVITIES WAS A GAME OF TUG OF WAR. MY AUNT ASKED ME TO PLAY AND AT FIRST I DIDN'T WANT TO BUT THEN I CHANGED MY MIND AND MY SON'S AND I WENT TO JOIN IN. MY TEAM WON (YEA!), BUT THERE WERE A FEW MOMENTS WHERE WE WERE BEING PULLED TO THE OTHER SIDE AND IT LOOKED AS IF WE WOULD LOOSE. LAST NIGHT I HAD A DREAM THAT MY COUSIN AND I WERE DRIVING ALONG A DANGEROUS ROAD. I WOKE UP AND I KNEW THAT THE DREAM HAD BEEN A WARNING. I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME THINGS THAT I SHOULDN'T LATELY. AFTER WAKING I THOUGHT ABOUT THE DREAM AND GOD SPOKE "YOU HAVE TO STOP TORRY" TO MY SPIRIT. THERE WAS A HURRICANE WARNING IN MY AREA AND YOU COULD LITERALLY FEEL THE SPIRITUAL TENSION BETWEEN TWO FORCES...GOOD AND EVIL. I WILL DEFINATELY BE SEEKING GOD HARD THESE UPCOMING DAYS FOR STRENGTH, RENEWAL, AND REFILLING. I WANT TO BE ON THE RIGHT TEAM...GOD ALWAYS WINS.
ROMANS 7
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would , that do I not; but what I hate , that do I . 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is , in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do . 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

HARVEST...AN EXPECTED END

Today was a crazy day! My mom spent her birthday with my grandmother in the ER, but thank God all is well. When I got off I called to check on my grandmother and to tell my mom happy birthday. When I said happy birthday my mom's response which was "thank you" was a little dry; so I asked "did you get your package" she said no.  After we got off the phone I checked my messages and sure enough the flower shop that I had placed my delivery with had called saying they were out of stock of the container for the flower arraignment I had ordered. By the time I checked the message the shop was closed so I went to walmart and got flowers and a candle warmer. I chose roses and sunflowers. I took two of the sunflowers out and decided to take one to my great aunt who lived close to the store. When I got there she looked at me strange and asked if I knew she had been sick. I told her no I just decided to stop by. I hugged her, talked to her briefly, gave her the flower and left. I then went to the hospital and gave my mom her gift and my grandmother her flower. Time is precious; especially time with the ones you love. I looked back on today's events in awe of the wisdom of God. He knew my great aunt had been sick and he knew going to the store by her home would make me think of her.
He knew that flowers would brighten my mother's day. Quite a few people I know have birthdays this month. I hope every one I hold dear had a good birthday. My birthday is next month; my son  got my gift early and asked if he could give it to me early. When I got home my gift was on the bed. It was a candle holder like the one he had seen me buy for another loved one whose birthday was this month. He had seen how much I liked it and had been waiting to surprise me with it, so in essence I had reaped what I had sown.
