Good Reads

I love to read. I have read more lately than I have read in a long time. I read one book and then another that I am suppose to read comes up. I will share the books that have made an impact...
"Set yourself Free" is a book on deliverance  that I read not too long ago and it is one of the best books I have read on deliverance. "Pigs in a Parlor" is another good book on deliverance that I read some years back. I recently finished the last book in a trilogy of Christian Sci-Fi called "The Iona Portal". I am currently reading "The Plowman Shall Overtake the Reaper" by Lora Allison. I knew that this book would be the next one I would read but I had planned to take a break before starting it and doing a study on 1 Corinthians. I was urged to start reading the book as soon as I finished the other book I was reading...along with the "Iona Portal" series I was reading "A Triumphant Kingdom".  If you are looking for a book to read I recommend "The Plowman Shall Overtake the Reaper". I have had to read it a little slower than I normally read because it is so "meaty", meaning it is filled with deeper spiritual concepts. I put my book down just to share about the gold nuggets that I have been gleaning from this book. I am pleased. I love you with the love of Christ; till next time.

Ephaphatha!

Yesterday God showed me a door that was almost off of the hinges. I know he was saying don't stop you are almost there. I think the fact that the door was coming off the hinges was significant because once it is opened it will BE OPENED. This may be why some things have been more difficult to access...because once they are obtained they will remain and not run out or close. I thought more on it today and I found an article from the Elijah list that gives a little more insight on what God is doing. The link is below. The Lord make his face shine upon you, be gracious unto you, and give you peace.

Inspiration scriptures:  Deuteronomy 6:10-11, Isaiah 45:2-3, 1 Kings 17:14, Mark 7:34
Numbers 6:24-26

Joel 2

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18 Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19 Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said,  Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

Don't let Go

You may be the one thing, someone is holding on to... don't let them go. Even if the relationship needs to change; don't let go. Pray and intercede when they come to mind.  If they reach out set boundaries if you need to but let them know love remains. Don't let go.

Food for Thought

I went by the water to feed the birds and normally when I do I have to throw the bread away from me because numerous birds swarm around me. Today someone had gone fishing and cleaned the fish they had caught and threw the remains in the water. There were an abundance of small fish swimming in the water; two decent sized crabs and even a baby sting ray....for this park this doesn't happen but this isn't the first unusual thing I have seen at this park recently. Last week God told me to be open; he didn't give me specifics, I think he is just preparing me for what's ahead so that I can be obedient no matter what it looks like. I think in this next season we are going to have the resolve to ask God is this you? and if it is no matter what we think or what it looks like we need to be willing. I believe it won't be the usual. Today as I sat at the park tossing the bread on the water  only about two birds ate the bread; the others had feasted on the fish carcasses but the bread didn't go to waste, it was food for the small fish that had come close to shore. It reminded me of the parable of the dinner feast. In this hour though we may desire to commune and celebrate with our families and friends God may call us to embrace and welcome people who we may not have chosen to befriend ourselves. We can continue to pray and intercede for our families and friends but if God calls us to band with others the only important thing is knowing that it is God, because when it is we can rest assured that even though the people may look different and be different if they are God's and he is drawing us together it is for our good and the advancement of the kingdom of God. So come who will to the great feast that our Lord has prepared.

Luke 14 Passion translation
12 Then Jesus turned to his host and said, “When you throw a banquet, don’t just invite your friends, relatives, or rich neighbors—for it is likely they will return the favor. 13–14 It is better to invite those who never get an invitation. Invite the poor to your banquet, along with the outcast, the handicapped, and the blind—those who could never repay you the favor. Then you will experience a great blessing in this life, and at the resurrection of the godly you will receive a full reward.”
15 When they heard this, one of the dinner guests said to Jesus, “Someday God will have a kingdom feast,[b] and how happy and privileged will be the ones who get to share in that joy!”
16 Jesus replied with this parable:
“There was a man who invited many to join him in a great feast. 17 When the day for the feast arrived, the host instructed his servant to notify all the invited guests and tell them, ‘Come, for everything is now ready for you!’ 18 But one by one they all made excuses. One said, ‘I can’t come. I just bought some property and I’m obligated to go and look it over.’ 19 Another said, ‘Please accept my regrets, for I just purchased five teams of oxen[c] and I need to make sure they can pull the plow.’ 20 Another one said, ‘I can’t come because I just got married.’
21 “The servant reported back to the host and told him of all their excuses. So the master became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go at once throughout the city and invite anyone you find—the poor, the blind, the disabled, the hurting, and the lonely—and invite them to my banquet.’
22 “When the servant returned to his master, he said, ‘Sir, I have done what you’ve asked, but there’s still room for more.’
23 “So the master told him, ‘All right. Go out again, and this time bring them all back with you. Persuade the beggars on the streets, the outcasts, even the homeless. Urgently insist that they come in and enjoy the feast so that my house will be full.’
24 “I say to you all, the one who receives an invitation to feast with me and makes excuses will never enjoy my banquet.

Return to Worship

God is removing the voice of the enemy...it was always about your worship. Expect to recover what was stolen and expect it to be multiplied upon its return.

The Story of Jonah —A Lesson in Courage and Mercy

This movie was created by Jehovah's Witness; I am not a Jehovah's Witness nor do I believe what they believe. However, this was a good movie based on the story of Jonah.

Man Ought Always to Pray

I heard a speaker once say that worship generated power. He said that we need to send that power somewhere, in other words, we should worship with purpose. Yes, I know we should worship God because he is God  but while we have an audience with the King it would behove us to present him with our petitions. I am reading a book called "Worship Warrior" (I strongly recommend this book) and it reminded me of the principle mentioned above
In the book the writer discusses how prayers accumulate and how he believed that the bowls in heaven where our prayers are stored are checked by angels sent by God when we pray. He proposes that often times when the bowls are checked there is not enough in our bowls to meet the need and there wasn't enough power in our prayer time to get it done... to tip the bowl. He goes on to say that when the bowl is full it is tipped and released by an angel in the earth realm.  God gives us glimpses of this principle with scriptures like "pray without ceasing, knock and keep on knocking..." The only thing left to do is PUSH, pray until something happens.

Draw me close

Jeremiah 31:3
The Lord appeared of old unto me, saying yea, I have loved thee with everlasting love : therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.

Luke 21:18
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads for your redemption draweth nigh.

Psalm 18:16
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

An Abundance of Rain

Today a ministry that I am connected to sent out a letter and had a widow's mite enclosed in the envelope. I heard it (the mite) hit the floor and I could not find it. I became agitated after a while. I thought to myself...that's typical. I said to myself I will look once more and when I did I found it. I read the story of Elijah and the abundance of rain in 1 Kings 18 later on in the evening and I felt like the message was keep the faith and keep expecting God to do what he said he would do; which is a good principle but knew there was more and I felt led to read the story of the widow's mite; after reading the story of the widow's mite what I believe God is saying is if we are giving according to God's will, there is a blessing there...we need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us find it if it is not in plain sight; because it is there. We may need to look again; we may need to call it forth; we may need to pull it from another dimension...but it is there.

Wonderful redeemer

I wrote a post once about how I had driven down by the water searching  for peace and how the weather was beautiful and there was even a man standing at the end of the pier playing an instrument but I could not stay to enjoy it.  Well my God is a redeemer... the weather is  beautiful, the sun is about to set and the guy is at the end of the pier playing...my heart is smiling.
